It has been long. Very long time since my last post. Did not know what got into me, but I just did not have the time to write! Which is annoying. But anyways, I am back now with some article about doing a good everlasting base if you are doing a makeup for clients that need their makeup to stay on like 24 hours.
Maybe for Indonesians, you all know how weddings work. You get up at 3am and start your beauty business around that time. That means you have to somehow do your magic to make your complexion safe and sound for the next 6-8 hours before the retouch time.
I believe if you try to google ways to make your make up everlasting, there are tons of steps out there that you can follow. Here is mine:
1. Moisturize. I can't pin point enough throughout my whole articles that skincare is the most important step in applying makeup. I did the whole toner - serum - moisturizer and eye cream to my clients.
2. Prime. It has come to my attention that there are so many people now are layering primers over primers (especially if client has oily skin) to make their complexion flawless and everlasting. From my own experience, when I'm layering too much primers, it won't work well with the foundations that I will put on after that. It will literally ruin everything. So, for me, when I am facing someone that has oily skin, I am just putting primers on the problematic areas. For example, pore filling primers on the nose and sides of them, mattifying primers on the T- Zone area and sprits some Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray to finish off the priming step. For dry skin, moisturizers only. Double serum sometimes depending on how dry the skin is. I don't do dry skin primers.
3. Foundation and Concealer. I mixed 2-3 brands to get the perfect shade. And I blend with my whole energy to the face. I prefer to use damped sponge instead of brushes to do this step. Blend blend blend blend.
4. Powders. One of the most important step. First, I will do loose powders to set all concealers and complexion. Then, I will load on the compact powder with a brush to lock everything down. I think my secret stays here. Compact powder to me is the key to holds up the complexions. Then I finish everything off with Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray or Loreal Infallible Spray for cheaper option.
There you go. My own secret to an everlasting complexion. Of course, everyone will have their own step. You don't have to follow this thoroughy one by one. Try if you want, if not, it is up to you too. One thing about make up that will always be in me is that it is supposed to be fun. There are tons of do's and dont's out there, but really, you create your own do's and dont's. Remember, there are no right or wrong in makeup :)
Until next post,
